Furutech’s Pure Transmission FI-50M NCF Piezo Ceramic series connector bodies and housings feature several breakthrough construction techniques.
All metal parts are treated with Furutech’s Two Step Cryogenic and Demagnetizing Alpha Process.
A multilayer nonmagnetic stainless steel and silver plated carbon fiber shell incorporates a special damping and insulating acetal copolymer. Furutech settled on stainless and silver plated carbon fiber for the outer housing after extensive listening sessions with Japanese industry figures and audiophiles.
The body of the connectors incorporates an “active” damping material: Nano Crystal² Formula – Nano Crystalline, Ceramic and Carbon Powder. Incorporated into select Furutech products, Nano Crystal² Formula — NCF is comprised of a special crystalline material that has two “active” properties. First, it generates negative ions that eliminate static and secondly, it converts thermal energy into far-infrared. Furutech then combines this remarkable crystalline material with nano-sized ceramic particles and carbon powder for their additional “Piezo Effect” damping properties. The resulting Nano Crystal² Formula is the ultimate electrical and mechanical damping material – only found in Furutech products!
Nano Crystal² Formula eliminates static, “interconverts” thermal, mechanical and electrical energy and damps vibrations—all for the finest Furutech Pure Transmission signal imaginable.
How far will Furutech’s engineers go in their attempts to reach Pure Transmission reference quality? Their concentrated examination of each and every element of signal transfer has resulted in another breakthrough technology, the Furutech Floating Field Damper System. It eliminates EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) induced in metal parts like connector housing screws. Current flowing through the power connector creates a magnetic field, just as an insulated conductor creates both electromagnetic and electrostatic fields. Furutech engineers found this magnetic field induces current flow (and a small magnetic field) in the screws holding the connector together! These magnetic fields interfere with the larger magnetic field around the conductor and connector.
Furutech’s total attention to detail and elegant engineering neatly solves the problem. The Floating Field Damper System connects the securing screws to a ground terminal within the plug completely eliminating the field disturbances they cause. The stray fields are grounded by a series of interlocking parts within the connector that attach to the ground conductor. The Floating Field Damper System is available in Furutech US Power and IEC Connectors.
Considered to be the most sophisticated and thoroughly engineered AC connectors in the world.

” (The) Overall high quality of each Furutech product is unquestionable. They are among the best-of-breed and incorporate solid engineering and design. Lifespan should be, well, virtually forever. One thing I did not write about is aesthetics, and here is where Furutech’s parts shine. The craftsmanship is beautiful, especially the silver colored carbon fiber IEC and wall end power connector. Also of note is that the earth/ground jumper system connects the securing screws to a ground terminal within the plug. This is said to eliminate the field disturbances as stray fields are grounded by a series of interlocking parts within the connector that attach to the ground conductor” – Steven Rochlin

“Furutech’s FI-50 NCF/Alpha PC-Triple C power cord proved an exceptional performer with a unique personality…..it sounded particularly smooth, liquid, and clean…..its unusually detailed, extended, and refined treble will beautifully reproduce the fleetingly high harmonic “edge” emanating from the clarinet’s tone chamber, and accurately convey the brittle nature of upper-midband mandolin-string plucks. These are things that not every power cord can do. Aside from observations concerning the Furutech cord’s sui generis take on musical rarities such as cacophonous high-end piano notes and subterranean pipe-organ displays, it checked off the boxes of the things I look for in a high-end power cord: transient impact, detail, image focus, and noise rejection. All were present in spades.” – Howard Kneller

“Resolution. Audible space. Dynamics. Those were the three-leafed clover aspects in the Furutech’s lapel. Unexpectedly, much of these cord swaps played out on the archetypal copper/silver axis….The Japanese cord (Furutech DPS4.1 terminated with Furutech FI-50 NCF plugs) was more energetic, focussed and glossy, like typical silver even though it was pure copper. With the DPS4.1, image halos which on good recordings light up space around a voice or instrument were far more apparent…it was also clear with the Furutech’s fronting the system, dynamic range expanded. Peaks rose higher. Even more relevant, the little flutters of emphatic accents that fill out a melodic act traversed more distance for greater dynamic expression. That together with clearer space coordinates added up to higher resolution and more musical energy.” – Srajan Ebaen
